Organized by the Ministry of Education, Malaysia through the National Book Council of Malaysia (MBKM), together with the cooperation from Malaysian Book Associations that comprises of the major players of the local book industry, KLIBF is definitely of the major events in the global publishing calendar. KLIBF provides a networking opportunity to meet with the local and international publishing community. Over 1 million visitors attend the KLIBF every year. It is the perfect place for book lovers to get the latest books and promotions from publishers around the region. Book launches, seminars, conventions and lots of other activities are in place to suit all levels of the reading community. There is a "Trade & Copyright Centre", specially dedicated for local and foreign trade exhibitors and visitors to encourage exchanging of publishing and distribution rights for the benefit of the local book industry players. This is an annual event that should not be missed by the top players in the

The first Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair 2013 (KLiBF 2013) Executive Committee meeting was held on the 25th September 2012 at Bilik Perlis, PWTC, K.Lumpur. The meeting was attended by the director and assistant director of MBKM and the representatives from all the associations involved in KLiBF 2013 which consist of:

 

1. Mr. Abd. Wahab Ibrahim, Director of National Book of Council of Malaysia (MBKM)

2. Mr. Ahmad Fadli Abd. Aziz, Assistant Director of MBKM

3. Puan Adibah Omar,Assistant Director of MBKM

4. Mr. Muhamad Pairus bin Kiple (representing Tuan Hj. Mohd Ramly Hj. Ngah Idris, President),      Malaysian Bumiputera Book Publishers and Distributors Association – PPPBBM)

5. YBhg. Dato' Dr. Ivan Hoe Wat Sing,                                                                                                          President, Malaysian Book Exporters and Importers Association (MBEIA)

6Mr. Sung Wing Lok,  (representing Mr. Cheah Thye Wee, President,                                           Malaysia Booksellers Association – MBA)

7. Tuan Hj. Hasan bin Hj. Hamzah,                                                                                                                 President, Malaysian Book Contractors Association (PKBM)

8. Tuan Hj. Ishak bin Hamzah, (representing YBhg. Dato' Hussamuddin Yaacub,                   President, Malaysian Book Publishers Association – MABOPA)

9. Mr Anas Yusof Sulaiman,                                                                                                                                      Executive Chairman of Oriental Businesslink Sdn Bhd

During the meeting, there was a mock cheque presentation amounted RM240,000.00 from the Director of MBKM to all representatives from the associations as the profit contribution from KLiBF 2012. And also during the meeting , KLiBF 2013 was officially decided to be held from 26th of April 2013 to 5th May 2013. Working Committe to KLiBF 2013 has been proposed and approved during the Exco Meeting. A Letter of Appointment to the Working Committee will be issued by MBKM.

Please be informed, for KLiBF 2013, there will be a contest for Designing of KLiBF 2013 Poster and Creating the Theme for KLiBF 2013. Booking form and participation in KLiBF 2013 will be distributed after the second KLiBF 2013 Exco Meeting which is scheduled to be held in the forth week of October 2012.
